A relaxed Sunshine Coast beach wedding filled with love, laughter and a whole lot of fun!

Alicia and Peter chose this beautiful waterfront venue for their wedding, surrounded by family, friends and their fun-loving bridal party. With classic green and white styling, a ceremony on the sand and plenty of laughter, their wedding was the perfect mix of elegance and relaxed coastal charm.
And the best part? These two are camera-shy, but you'd never know it from their photos!
Getting Ready and a Special First Look with Dad
I started the day photographing both Alicia and Peter getting ready at a local resort just minutes from their wedding venue. Capturing all those lovely moments of excitement and anticipation before the ceremony, was also a great way of getting portraits with their family and bridal party before the nerves kicked in.
With three bridesmaids and three groomsmen, there was plenty happening, from the finishing touches to the laughs shared with their closest friends.
One of my favourite moments was Alicia's first look with her dad. There's something so special about capturing a father's reaction when he sees his daughter dressed as a bride for the first time. These are the moments that become treasured family memories.
A Beautiful Beach Ceremony at Caloundra Power Boat Club
There's something pretty special about getting married with your toes in the sand and the ocean breeze in the air.
Alicia and Peter exchanged their vows on the beach with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop at Caloundra Power Boat Club, surrounded by their family and friends.
Their green and white wedding colours were beautifully classic and worked perfectly with the coastal setting.
One of the things I love about photographing weddings here is having the beach right there for the ceremony and photos, with the convenience of the reception venue nearby.
Speed Friend Photos: A Fun Way to Include Everyone!
After the ceremony and traditional family and group photos, we finished with something a little different: Speed Friend Photos!
This is such a fun idea, and I love including it in wedding timelines.
Here's how it works. The couple chooses a fun, upbeat song, and while the music plays, family and friends race in for a quick photo with the newlyweds before heading off to cocktail hour.
The aim is to get through as many guests as possible before the song finishes!
It's fast, fun and usually comes with plenty of laughter. Plus, it's a great way to get everyone moving towards the reception without feeling rushed.
My photography tip: Speed Friend Photos are a win-win! You get a photo with each of your guests, and those photos make lovely little thank you gifts after the wedding.
Fun Bridal Party Photos by the Beach
With three bridesmaids and three groomsmen, Alicia and Peter's bridal party certainly knew how to have fun!
After the ceremony, I always love to give my bridal parties a few minutes to celebrate together, enjoy a drink & 5 minutes just taking in the moment before I captured a mix of relaxed group photos, plenty of laughs and some beautiful portraits of the couple together.
As a Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, I know not everyone loves being in front of the camera. Alicia and Peter were both camera-shy, so my approach was to keep things relaxed, offer a little gentle guidance and let their personalities shine through.
Because your wedding photos should look and feel like you, not like you've spent hours awkwardly posing!
From the Beach to the Reception
After all the beachside celebrations and portraits, everyone headed into the Caloundra Power Boat Club for the reception.
I stayed to capture Alicia and Peter's reception entrance and cake cutting before leaving them to enjoy the rest of their celebrations with family and friends.
