An intimate country wedding in the Sunshine Coast hinterland
Who says you need a big wedding to have a beautiful celebration?
Lauren and Michael chose to keep things small, intimate and elegant for their winter wedding at Prideaux Estate on the Sunshine Coast. With around 16 of their closest family and friends, a timeless black and white theme and a gorgeous country setting, their day was all about celebrating with the people who mattered most.
And it was absolutely lovely!
A Beautiful Chapel Wedding at Prideaux Estate
There's something really special about a small country wedding. Everything feels a little more relaxed, and you have more time to enjoy those meaningful moments with your favourite people.
Lauren and Michael exchanged their vows in the charming chapel at The Prideaux Estate, surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Their classic black and white styling was simple, elegant and timeless, perfectly complementing the country setting.
A Relaxed Garden Party Celebration
After the ceremony, everyone gathered in the gardens for drinks, canapés and a few heartfelt speeches.
I love this style of wedding celebration! There's no rush to get everyone somewhere else, and couples can enjoy chatting, laughing and celebrating with their guests.
We also made time for some beautiful couple portraits around the country grounds of The Prideaux Estate, making the most of the lovely country scenery.
Later, Lauren and Michael headed off for a special dinner celebration, making their wedding day feel like two lovely celebrations in one.
My Photography Tip for Small Weddings at The Prideaux Estate
One of the things I love about photographing weddings at The Prideaux Estate is being able to capture the ceremony, family photos, couple portraits and celebrations all in one location.
For smaller weddings like Lauren and Michael's, this works beautifully. There's no time wasted travelling between locations, which means more time enjoying your wedding and the people you love.
And don't be put off by a daytime winter wedding! As a Sunshine Coast wedding photographer with over 20 years of experience, I know how to work with the available light to create beautiful, natural portraits throughout the day.
The Perfect Photography Collection for an Intimate Wedding
Lauren and Michael chose my Cherish Signature Wedding Photography Collection, which is designed for smaller weddings where everything happens at one location.
With three hours of photography, there's time to capture the ceremony, family and group photos, beautiful couple portraits and those lovely candid moments during the celebrations.
And one of my favourite inclusions? A beautiful handmade wedding album!
Because even the smallest weddings deserve to have their story beautifully preserved, not just on a screen, but in an album you can hold, share and enjoy for generations.
