Hinterland Gateway Weddings can be found at the Nambour RSL and is one the the Sunshine Coast's hidden wedding venue gems. I was surprised the first time I stepped into the venue and saw just how amazing it really is. The wedding reception room is new and stylish and includes designer wall paneling, stunning mood lighting and a large sprung dance floor for you and your guests to party the night away. It's one of the only wedding venues on the Coast that can cater for large weddings, seating up to 200 guests.
Elissa Rosenberg is the Wedding Events Manager and she is my special guest on today's wedding blog post.
What do you love most about the events manager at Nambour RSL?
The surprised delight on the faces of every person who walks in here for the first time! Introducing people to the stylish venues, modern facilities, amazing food and professional staff is such a joy because it always exceeds their expectations but is still so affordable.
What do find most challenging about booking weddings?
The misconceptions and low expectations that spring to people’s minds when they hear, “Nambour” and “RSL”! We have such a gorgeous, modern venue which is just perfect for ceremonies, receptions AND photography options all in one spot but some people won’t even come in and take a look because of the historical stigma associated with RSL Clubs. On the plus side though, everyone that does come in for a visit is blown away by how amazing it is!
What is one thing Hinterland Gateway Weddings offer that makes you stand out of the crowd?
Our food – our Executive Chef, Matthew Smyth was just awarded Club Chef of the Year 2018 by Clubs Qld. He and his team make amazing dishes and desserts on premises – fresh, handmade food from local ingredients. Our sophisticated, modern menus offer tremendous value for money and can be tailored to suit individual requirements.
What’s the worst thing to happen to you at a wedding?
When I worked at a resort in Palm Cove I had an emergency call from a Bride whose wedding venue had been wiped out by Cyclone Larry and their wedding was booked for that weekend. Luckily, we had the availability to look after them at such short notice. The Bride was so relieved and happy on the day that everything had worked out so well…until her 3 year old put his hands all over the chocolate cake and then WIPED THEM DOWN THE BACK OF HER WEDDING DRESS!
When is your favourite time of year for weddings?
Early Autumn on the Sunshine Coast because we’re over the heat and rain of Summer, the days are still balmy and the evenings are starting to feel refreshingly cool.
Where is your favourite beach on the Sunshine Coast?
The spit end of Mooloolaba where there are no waves! I have 2 little kids so I can actually relax and enjoy the beach there rather than constantly making sure they’re not getting slammed by waves or dragged out too deep.
Where is your favourite place on the Sunshine Coast?
Nambour! I had lived in Nambour for 4 years before I started working here too. I love the country town feel and sense of community. With the beautiful Hinterland on one side and the coast on the other side we truly have the best of both worlds right at our doorstep, plus plenty of beautiful parks, café’s, bushwalks and views right in town!
Your favourite romance movie?
I’d love to say something a little less cliché but, Pride & Prejudice. I mean…Mr Darcy. Need I say more?! I’m a sucker for the classics and the fashion, etiquette and social formality of that Georgian Era are super romantic.
MARRY THE ONE YOU LOVE. GET HITCHED WITHOUT A HITCH. TOGETHER WE’LL CAPTURE THE HEART AND SOUL OF YOUR WEDDING DAY.
Have you dreamed about your wedding day and now it’s here you don’t know where to start and how to make it a reality?
Hi, I’m Lou, I’m a wedding photographer.
I’m passionate about helping bridal couples create the most amazing day and making sure they have the time on the day to enjoy it.
I love capturing beautiful, emotive images that become a time machine back to your special day, so you can relive those memories of the joy, love, laughter and tears that made up your wedding day.
My bridal couples value the time and effort I put in to help plan and organise their wedding day and understand that therefore they receive beautiful images that feel real and genuine that they know they will cherish for years to come.
Unlike other photographers, not only do I want to give my bridal couples timeless photos, I want to give you an experience from the moment you start organising your wedding through to designing the perfect wedding album. My bridal couples know that I genuinely care about them and their lifechanging moment.
I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for most of my life and worked in the wedding industry on the Coast for many years that my wealth of local and wedding experience is invaluable to bridal couples wanting to get the most out of their Sunshine Coast Wedding.
I’d love to talk to you about your wedding day and the ideas and plans you have and I how I can help you make your dream wedding come true.
